Tomorrow at 12, the mayor of Napoli Gaetano Manfredi will unveil the plaque dedicated to Lucio Dalla, which will be placed on the steps of the Santa Lucia platform on Via Partenope. The mayor will be joined by Deputy Mayor Laura Lieto and City Councilor Alessandra Clemente, who first proposed naming a city landmark after the Bolognese artist.
The proposal was unanimously approved by the Toponymy Commission and subsequently approved by the council with a recent resolution. Lucio Dalla, who would have turned 4 on March 80th, had strong ties to the city and regularly moored his yacht at the Circolo Savoia, of which he was a member.
The steps leading from Via Partenope, at the intersection of Via Santa Lucia, to the sea near the Circolo will bear his name. Among those in attendance will be the president of the Circolo Savoia, Fabrizio Cattaneo della Volta, and the Lucio Dalla Foundation, representing the artist's heirs.
