They stole water and electricity through illegal connections to the water systems and the public electricity network: three individuals were identified and reported for aggravated theft by the financial police of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Napoli, during targeted checks aimed at ascertaining any tampering and theft of water and electricity utilities in the municipalities north of Naples.
In particular, the military personnel of the Giugliano in Campania Group, together with technical personnel from the distribution companies called to support the interventions, verified the presence of Marano of Naples, through artisanal bypasses made with copper and iron pipes, of two illegal connections directly to the public water network, which allowed the fraudulent and unlimited withdrawal of drinking water without recording it on the appropriate meter.

During a further raid on a bar in Villaricca, the Guardia di Finanza identified the unauthorized connection to a meter that had been shut down and illegally “rearmed”, located in a cabin outside the premises that allowed the commercial activity to supply electricity.
Further investigations are underway to precisely quantify the economic damage resulting from these crimes.
The Guardia di Finanza continues its efforts in the Neapolitan territory to fight all forms of crime, including the protection of assets related to primary public utility services.
