The city of Ercolano, in view of the 28th Day of Remembrance and commitment in memory of the innocent victims of the mafia, has organized a March of Legality for Friday 17 March 2023 which will see the participation of students, parents, authorities, associations, parishes and citizens.
“Let's all walk the Mile of Legality together on March 17. With this event we want, once again, to create an opportunity for discussion and reflection on the themes of legality, justice and the environment”.
This is the invitation of Ciro Buonajuto, mayor of Herculaneum, national vice-president of the ANCI. “We will march – the mayor anticipates – with many students, in front of the strongholds of the three clans Birra, Papale and Ascione, who insisted on the territory of Ercolano and who, thanks to the courage of the citizens, the police and the judiciary, were defeated and those confiscated assets are now used by the Carabinieri and social cooperatives.
But we must not lower the bar, because silence helps the mafias. We shout our no to the mafias, from Ercolano we make our opposition to every form of illegality heard once again. We asked the children and young people of the schools of our city to color with their ideas, drawings, banners, balloons the entire route of the march”.
The gathering is scheduled for 10 am near the Villa Comunale del Palazzo di Città (Corso Resina 39). At 10:15 am the March will start crossing the “Miglio della Legalità” where there are three properties confiscated from as many Camorra clans. At 11 am the arrival at the Parco del Miglio d'Oro is scheduled with a moment of discussion and reflection on the theme of Legality.
