The latest incident reported to Green-Left alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli occurred in Melito di Napoli.
"This burglary of a villa occurred last week in Melito. We no longer feel safe from anything. Something must be done about all these thefts. I've noticed that thieves in similar incidents always wear masks to avoid being caught on camera. A regional ordinance should be issued prohibiting their use because the COVID emergency is over and this only serves to fuel crime," said the person who reported the theft.
“You are not even safe in your own home while the streets are even, especially in certain areas and at night, off-limits for decent people. Citizens are scared and have lost faith in the institutions that are unable to stem this ever-increasing crime.
We need to implement a new security plan, as we have been doing for some time now: more officers, more patrols on the streets, increased video surveillance and tougher sentences ,” declared Borrelli.
