“The Metropolitan must not close. We absolutely agree with the collective mobilization of citizens, associations and institutional representatives and with the protest that followed in recent days.
The complete “deregulation” of administrative licenses and authorizations – which we have witnessed in recent years – is not good. Rather, it requires corrective interventions – such as the one announced by the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano – to allow the protection of artistic and cultural activities and a varied presence of economic activities, in an area such as the one in which the historic cinema of Palazzo Cellamare has operated for over 75 years”.
This is what Alessandro Limatola, general secretary of CLAAI, the Association of crafts and small and medium-sized enterprises of the Campania region, declared in a note on the eve of the demonstration that will be held tomorrow morning in front of the entrance to the multiplex on Via Chiaia.
“The city and even more so the young people do not feed themselves – and we hope they do not feed themselves – only on sandwich shops but also on artistic and cultural events and manifestations – continues Limatola – We are absolutely in favor of the mobilization planned for tomorrow in support of the Metropolitan and with those who organize it, both as an association of businesses and as citizens”.
"The city's mission, that is manufacturing and culture, must be defended and this is the real test of the institutions to do so and to fill with content this concept that otherwise would only represent an empty slogan. Artistic and traditional craftsmanship - he concludes - represents an important cultural segment and therefore it is nourished and developed only in suitable environments".
