Intimidating message addressed to the mayor of Avellino, Gianluca Festa.
A message against the mayor appeared on the wall of the town hall in Piazza del Popolo, in Avellino's historic center. The threat, written in black marker, was discovered by Municipal Police officers on the wall of the registry office.
The same municipal police officers immediately informed Mayor Festa and the investigators of the Avellino Police Headquarters.

This was stated in a joint statement by the group leaders of the majority council groups in the Municipality of Avellino: Elia Desimone for "Davvero," Diego Guerriero for "Viva la Libertà," Gerardo Melillo for "Avellino Vera," and Carmine Montanile for "Ora Avellino."
"Although the terms used are particularly serious, and hark back to dark and distant periods in our democracy," the group leaders continued, "we know full well that the mayor will continue to work to resolve the city's problems, day after day.
