“It was an important year because we managed to avoid bankruptcy thanks to the Pact for Naples, to start the recovery of the accounts and the beginning of investments in the city”.
The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, said this on the sidelines of the City Council convened for a single-issue session to take stock of the program a year and a half into his term as mayor.
Manfredi emphasized that regarding the Pact , "all milestones have been met. We finally have initial financial security clearance, allowing us to resume road and green maintenance." While regarding the NRRP, "there's a major effort underway, with over a billion in funding secured for projects that will almost all begin construction in 2023."
Regarding the situation of the participating companies, the mayor highlighted that "a reorganization of the services of the municipal companies Asia, Anm, Abc is underway, with the appointment of new general managers, new competitions, the resolution of disputes and the closing of the financial statements."
The work carried out in his first year at the helm of the Municipality of Naples also included urban planning, social services, cultural activities, and tourism, "whose great boom ," Manfredi concluded, " must be channeled and strengthened to reap the fruits of the work done."
