Last night i Falchi of the Flying Squad, on orders from the Operations Centre, intervened in Corso Umberto following a report of a snatching theft.
The police officers, who arrived on the scene, were approached by two tourists who said they had been surprised from behind by a man who had snatched the smartphone from the hands of one of them and then quickly walked away.
The officers, shortly after, tracked him down in via Leopoldo Rodinò but the man, despite having been ordered to stop, fled towards piazza Portanova; the officers, not without difficulty, stopped him after a few metres, finding him in possession of a switchblade about 15 cm long.
