The Carabinieri of the Vomero company are executing a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples, at the request of the Naples prosecutor's office, against 3 people seriously suspected of having organized a criminal association aimed at committing car thefts, robberies and insurance fraud.

During the operations, a preventive seizure order was also executed for the undue profit obtained by simulating accidents, also involving doctors, lawyers and insurance experts.
The investigative activity, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Naples Marianella Station and coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, arose from the in-depth analysis of some reports of thefts and robberies of cars, which also occurred to the detriment of patients of the AOU "Federico II" (so-called "II Policlinico") and Santobono, carried out using the so-called "fake parking attendant" technique.
Further investigations have allowed us to acquire serious evidence of guilt against the current recipients of the measures and other suspects, in relation to the operation of a criminal association dedicated to fraud against insurance companies and the commission of car thefts and robberies, in order to then resell the components.
As for the planning aimed at defrauding insurance companies, the coordination figure exercised by one of the suspects emerged, affected by a precautionary measure and also recipient of a decree of preventive seizure of the undue profit obtained by simulating road accidents, involving for this purpose also professionals (including doctors, lawyers and insurance experts).
With reference to predatory crimes, the decisive role of the two suspects arrested today emerged, involved in multiple episodes of car theft, starting from 2019.
Further investigations have finally made it possible to ascertain the undue perception of the citizen's income by the family members of one of the recipients of today's provisions, who, starting from 2021, through false information and omitted communications to INPS, would have received the sum of 38.627 euros, for which a preventive seizure order was issued, also "for equivalent".
