"The restoration and redevelopment of the Albergo dei Poveri were among the first commitments I made after being appointed Minister for the South in the Draghi government.
The signing tomorrow of the memorandum of understanding between the Municipality and the Ministry of Culture to move to the operational phase is therefore excellent news: it begins to close a circle that I proudly claim to have opened two years ago, with the decision to include Palazzo Fuga among the 14 strategic projects of the PNRR for major cultural attractions, with funding of 100 million euros.

Mara Carfagna, president of Azione, declared this, adding: "With the Draghi government, we have embarked on an important journey, not only securing funding for the restoration but also promoting a major public consultation to gather proposals for the future use of the Albergo dei Poveri.
The new government has taken up the baton, continuing on the path traced. Now - concludes Carfagna - it will be important to proceed quickly and effectively, respecting the timescales imposed by the PNRR, so that not a single euro is wasted and Naples and the Neapolitans can reclaim one of the city's symbolic places as soon as possible".
