The Secondigliano delivery center in Naples has been awarded by Poste Italiane as the best delivery center among over 300 in Campania, Calabria, Puglia, and Basilicata, for volume management and parcel delivery during the Christmas holidays.
“We are very happy with this result,” said Vincenzo Spasola, director of the Secondigliano delivery center since 2021. “I would like to thank the postmen and women in particular because it is thanks to them and their availability that we have been able to achieve such important results.
Our Center handles deliveries in various areas of the city of Naples, particularly populated and with unclear toponymy: Scampia, Secondigliano, Chiaiano, San Pietro a Patierno and the entire Colli Aminei area including the Hospital Area.
Finding your way through such a large and complex territory is truly difficult – continues the Center Manager – and only thanks to the widespread network of Poste Italiane, the great skills of the postmen and women and the personal relationships they often establish with customers, we are able to deliver parcels everywhere and to carry out almost 100% same-day deliveries even during the busiest period of the year, the holidays”.
The Secondigliano Delivery Center employs over 70 people; there are 57 delivery zones that allow the entire territory to be served thanks to the team of postmen who travel almost 900.000 kilometers every year.
During the Christmas holidays in December alone, the Secondigliano delivery center recorded an average daily increase in parcel deliveries of 30% for a total of 45.000 parcels delivered with an average of 1800 parcels per day.
Delivery operations are safer and faster thanks to the use of new, latest-generation handheld devices supplied to the postmen of Secondigliano.
The palmtop speeds up operations such as tracked delivery of correspondence, parcels and registered, insured and legal documents, also thanks to the use of the recipient's electronic signature directly on the palmtop, allows you to contact the customer recipient of parcels by telephone during delivery and to effectively manage operations such as payment of cash on delivery, delivery by appointment and home collection of registered mail. Thanks to the new palmtops, it is also possible to manage the payment of the main payment slips and MAV and top up telephone and PostePay cards, exclusively through electronic payments in a safer and faster way.
Furthermore, the Secondigliano Delivery Center also serves 45 businesses belonging to the Punto Poste Network, including tobacconists and self-service points (the so-called Lockers) with extended opening hours, through which it is also possible to return your online purchases.
