Pretty Yende, the famous South African soprano, will be the first artist to step onto the stage of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples after its restoration.
Yende will perform on Thursday, April 6, exactly one month before she is due to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, which will take place on Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey in London.
At the San Carlo, where she returns after the success of Verdi's La Traviata directed by Ozpetek last July, she will be accompanied by pianist Michele D'Elia in a program that includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, and Gaetano Donizetti. Among the brightest stars of international classical music, Pretty Yende has performed at every major theater in the world.
