Law enforcement is investigating the mysterious fire that broke out on Via Tasso in Naples, reducing several scooters parked on the street to ashes.
The fire could also have been accidental but the reports and complaints from the owners of the scooters that went up in flames have led investigators to open an investigation to see clearly.
As reported to the Green-Left alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who carried out an inspection of the site of the accident, the fire could have been started by a cigarette or other lit item thrown from a moving car or from one of the balconies of the apartment buildings adjacent to the area of the fire.
"It could be a fire started by uncivilized behavior, but it could also be malicious, given the numerous criminal incidents that have occurred on the street recently. We have asked the authorities to review the video surveillance footage to further investigate the matter, which must be clarified as soon as possible ," Borrelli said.
