"In Salerno, we have the Pisano Foundries, which in my opinion should be closed because they pollute and do nothing to prevent pollution, just to be clear. But when you make a decision like that, on the other hand, you have a hundred workers losing their jobs. Who will find the balance between these equally vital needs?"
This was stated by the President of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, during a meeting with students from the "Francesco Severi" Scientific High School in Salerno.
De Luca also explained: "Guaranteeing a minimum wage is a good idea, but what seems like a revolutionary proposal isn't really relevant in the South because the bulk of industrial employment is in the Center-North. A minimum wage is fine, but the South needs jobs; the minimum wage comes second."
