“Land of Fires” checks by the Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna company who carried out a wide-ranging service aimed at safeguarding the environment in Sant'Anastasia and Somma Vesuviana.
During the operation—carried out in conjunction with the Carabinieri Forestry Corps—the military reported a mechanic who had dumped car bodies, engine parts, tires, and other hazardous waste in an area he owned on Via Santa Chiara.

Also reported was the owner of a metal company in Somma Vesuviana where the Carabinieri found car engines and two tanks with liquid waste inside. The entrepreneur was fined more than 4 thousand euros and the area – about 400 square meters – was seized.
In the company there is also an “illegal” worker for whom the Labor Inspectorate will be involved. Finally, a man found driving a truck while transporting non-hazardous bulky waste without any authorization was reported. The driver was also fined 516 euros.
