Personnel from the Naples Local Police's Environmental Protection Unit, as part of the 'Terra dei fuochi' (Land of Fires) Control Room, in collaboration with other police forces and the Army, conducted targeted checks on the illegal disposal of hazardous waste generated by manufacturing processes in artisanal businesses.
During the checks carried out in the Arenaccia area, the officers found that the spaces in front of a room facing the street in Via Carrascosa, used as a workshop for the repair of vehicles, were made dangerously slimy by motor oil residues spread on the pavement.

The inspection revealed that the business—according to local police—was being operated without any authorization. No registration was found in the Chamber of Commerce or the Register of Artisan Businesses. Furthermore, the workshop was operating without the required and necessary contract for the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, resulting from the workshop's operations.
The inspection resulted in the charge being brought against the responsible party, with the application, in addition to the criminal seizure of the premises, of administrative fines totaling over €7.000.
