These are people (thieves, ed.) who wake up every morning to commit crimes, so we must not take rash initiatives. Let's help and support the police forces", added the mayor who yesterday afternoon had met, in a packed council chamber, numerous fellow citizens worried about what is happening.
A Whatsapp group, with about 200 members, had been created for a real-time exchange of information between people about the possible presence of criminals in the town and their location.
And it was up to the commander of the local station, Giorgio Covato, and the commander of the Municipal Police, Moreno Salsano, to calm things down by inviting people to avoid any personal action dictated by impetus, limiting themselves to promptly reporting suspicious presences to the competent authorities.
“The investigative activities, as far as I know, are at the highest levels. The competent authorities have ensured the means and men to capture these people and restore tranquility to our country,” Amatruda said. His appeal is to pay more attention to people who do not belong to the country or who may seem suspicious, but always and only by reporting to the police.
