At the Teatro Tram a… “Masterpiece” debuts: from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th April the new show written and directed by Gennaro Esposito will be on stage in the hall in via Port'Alba, which explores the theme of loneliness in our hyper-connected world. The protagonist is, needless to say, an influencer: Effe – played by Enrico Disegni – is intent on celebrating the success of one million followers, when he decides to tell everyone the story of his journey.

Along with his story, he promises his beloved fans to show them his latest work, which he considers his “masterpiece”. Between twists and revelations, Effe retraces his path backwards accompanied by his faithful audience.

"With this show ," explains Gennaro Esposito, " I attempted to analyze the growing mania for easy money and success at any cost, fueled by the strong influence of social media and which is becoming a hallmark of more than one generation. Every day we scroll through photos and videos of people seemingly always on vacation, always out visiting beautiful places and luxurious destinations, while we're on our lunch break with our sandwiches. What feelings does all this trigger? What mechanisms run through the brain of those who constantly observe someone else living "the best of all possible worlds"? Capolavoro attempts to look at this world, this reality from the other side, the one that almost no one sees. It does so by showing a face and a story, one of many possible ones. Very often, without giving it much thought, we give our time, attention, and earnings to people with questionable private lives, sometimes completely out of step with our morals. We elevate these "content creators" to icons, characters to draw inspiration from, simply because they make us smile or laugh. But who are these people really? What do they do, how do they behave once the camera is turned off? And, above all, what were they before they were famous?”.

The now and now is a common temptation, a widespread desire: in an era of Tiktokers and content creators it seems easy, very easy to go from anonymity to global success. But what is behind this world? What are the real experiences, the real stories behind the screen? Gennaro Esposito has tried to reflect and investigate precisely on this point, on these realities. To give body and life to a story of great loneliness, despite the daily exposure to the masses, to the watchful and attentive eye of thousands and thousands of people. To feel alone even when you are never alone.
