The hunt is on for the two fake financial police officers who escaped the fury of the crowd and the handcuffs of the Carabinieri yesterday, while their two accomplices fared much less well, having had to seek medical treatment for their injuries before ending up in prison.
They had attempted the robbery at the home of a young waste management entrepreneur in Acerra . Of the two arrested, Giuseppe Beneventano and Luigi Mancinelli, both from Naples and aged 37 and 45 respectively, the younger of the two had just been released from prison, as he did every morning, to go to work because he had been placed under semi-liberty by the judiciary.
It's 7 in the morning and 4 people break into the home of a 35-year-old. The robbery - in the presence of the man and his family (wife and children) - is quick. The men wear Guardia di Finanza jackets and simulate a search.
The owner of the house is tied at the wrists but manages to free himself. A fight breaks out and the victim chases them. In the meantime, the 112 alert arrives from the victim's wife. It takes just a few minutes for the carabinieri to reach the place while the businessman is chasing the robbers. The soldiers, with no small difficulty, manage to block the two arrested. The others fled, taking with them what they could.
Once the two were stopped, the military began their inspection and found a Fiat Panda near the house. Inside, they found and seized 2 blue flashing light used by law enforcement, 1 black surgical mask with the GDF emblem, 1 pair of silver plastic handcuffs, 1 caps with visors bearing the GDF emblem, a dog swatter, 2 blue vest with the words “Guardia di Finanza” written on it and 1 adhesive car plates glued over the original ones.
The entire stolen property was also found and returned to its rightful owner.
Due to the fight, the victim and the robbers were transferred to the hospital.
The businessman will be out for 10 days while one of the two arrested was released with a 7-day prognosis. The hunt for the two accomplices is now on.
