The increase in tourists on the islands of the Neapolitan archipelago has intensified the already extensive surveillance of the Carabinieri of the Ischia branch . Checks in the island municipalities and patrols at the port docks have led to the identification of 184 people and the inspection of 134 vehicles.
A 34-year-old man from Casamicciola was reported for driving under the influence of alcohol . He was stopped during a checkpoint in the municipality of Barano, where his driving was clearly irregular. His blood alcohol level was found to be over the legal limit, and the officers confiscated his license and seized his car.
A 19-year-old was reported to the prefecture for being found in possession of a small stick of hashish.
Checks were also carried out at sea with a patrol boat . Twenty vessels were inspected. Five boaters were fined a total of 6,000 euros.

The violations detected are lack of safety equipment on board, lack of authorization to anchor and to practice sport fishing in the marine protected area "Regno di Nettuno", lack of license to install radio equipment on board, lack of insurance.
The military also intervened in a restaurant in Procida where a 64-year-old man, evidently drunk, was threatening and insulting customers. The 58-year-old was removed and fined. The checks will continue in the coming days.
