In recent days, the Caserta Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza coordinated the execution of a service aimed at combating the production and sale of counterfeit products, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of shoes (over 55 pieces) bearing near-perfect imitations of the designs and logos of well-known brands (Mou, Birkenstock, Dr. Martens, Gucci, Elisabetta Franchi, Smile, Amneh Muaddi, Supreme, and Givenchy). The sale of counterfeit shoes on the market is believed to have generated illicit profits of over €1 million.
The goods were found inside a large warehouse, located in the municipality of San Nicola La Strada (CE), attributable to a Chinese national, who managed the illegal business through a company with registered and operational headquarters in Naples.
It was the Finance Police of the Sessa Aurunca Branch who identified the clandestine warehouse thanks to an intense information-investigative activity and after having monitored suspicious movements of commercial vehicles entering and leaving the storage site for several days.
The person responsible was reported, at large, to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, which also validated the seizure of the entire load of illicit goods carried out by the military.
In fact, the shoes, despite bearing the words "Made in China", faithfully reproduced the signs and models of the original brands, a condition likely to mislead consumers with consequent economic and image damage for the manufacturing companies.
