Archive papers on stage: Thursday 13 April, at 19 pm, the Cartastorie museum hosts the second event of “Sembravano C'Arte”, the exhibition of the Fondazione Banco di Napoli and the Superintendency of Archives and Bibliography of Campania.
The Banco di Napoli Historical Archives are the backdrop and inspiration: on stage one of the stories contained in its folders, a heritage of five centuries of memories, which the exhibition disseminates through art. This meeting tells the story of the destinies of three Neapolitan women, united by a credit faith and a domestic accident at the beginning of 1900, which serves as a pretext to tell the centrality of the "dowry" system in the South of Italy at the beginning of the century, between subordination and the guarantee of women.
Debora Sacco will interpret Ben vero pagherete, a text by Andrea Zappulli, accompanied by Michele Buonocore.
What's in the archives? The dust? The papers.
“In reality there are always people in the archives – explain the promoters – hidden, marginal, between the lines or obvious, central, continually protagonists of a narrative made of fragments and traces. Here then they become a stimulus, an open-ended question, that comes to us from a distant century or from the other day of our recent past. The review gives an interpretation, through the papers, to what memory has left us”.
Admission is free with mandatory reservation. Participants will also be able to visit the multimedia trail Kaleidos de ilCartastorie at a reduced rate within the following week until youth April 20, by presenting the Sembrano C'arte ticket. Info and reservations www.ilcartastorie.it
Via dei Tribunali, 213, Naples.
