“Moving the Pisano Foundries to Buccino is equivalent to permanently compromising an area with a high rural vocation and decreeing the failure of an entire production chain that boasts decades-long traditions.

“It is paradoxical to think of building a foundry in the industrial area of Buccino that falls within the state-owned area of the Bianco river, a tributary of the Tanagro and the Sele, from whose waters thousands of agricultural companies in the Piana del Sele draw. Without considering that the construction of such a plant would create the conditions for the loss of thousands of jobs.
Furthermore, it becomes immoral considering that the uncontrolled emissions of the previous plant have probably compromised the health of many citizens who lived in the municipalities of Salerno, Pellezzano and Baronissi, as confirmed by recent investigations, and also considering the heavy accusations that weigh on those who should manage this construction.
With our representatives in the Institutions we will oppose with every possible means the relocation of the Pisano foundries to Buccino and the Crater area. The season of impositions of choices made from above that do not respect either the citizens or the local institutions of our territory is over” - concludes Villani-.
