Two Benevento Calcio ultras have been identified by the Digos (Italian Special Operations Division) as being responsible for the attack on player Roko Jureskin on April 11. The Benevento Anti-Crime Division today issued a nationwide ban on them from sporting events.

One of the two supporters, already subject to an eight-year ban from sporting competitions following incidents committed during the Benevento-Bari match on November 5, 2022, was issued a similar order extending the ban for another two years.

The other fan, also subject to a five-year ban from sporting events for acts committed during the Brescia-Benevento match on March 15, 2022, has been given a similar ban, extending it for another three years. In recent days, the Crime Prevention Division has issued a further ban on a Roma supporter for acts committed during the Benevento-Spal Serie B match on April 10.

A few minutes before the match, in an attempt to obtain a ball that had left the pitch and been recovered by a steward in the lower tier of the "Curva Sud" stadium, the fan had violently snatched the ball from a woman while she was performing her duties in the "Ciro Vigorito" section of the stadium. He, who had previously been subject to a similar interdiction, was banned from accessing venues where sporting events are held for eight years.
