On April 17th at 9:00 PM at the Acacia Theater, to commemorate Aurelio Fierro, the extraordinary Neapolitan artist known throughout the world, and taking advantage of the 100th anniversary of his birth, a group of musicians and friends, accompanied by Fierro's Band, will pay homage to Mr. Scapricciatiello by performing the songs that made "the Neapolitan Aurelio" popular.
Engineer Aurelio Fierro was born in Montella (AV) in 1923. His brilliant artistic career began early. In 1951 he won a competition for new voices, first out of 600, which allowed him to sign a recording contract with Durium. In 1953 he won the first festival of Castellammare di Stabia with “Rose, poveri rrose!” which pushed him to leave his profession as an engineer to dedicate himself only to his passion: music. “Scapricciatiello” was his first success. Many others followed. In 1956 he dominated the Festival of Naples with “Guaglione”. The song gave him international fame, thanks to the numerous 'tournées' that allowed him to land in America and Canada.
Aurelio Fierro took part in six Sanremo Italian Song Festivals and in several editions of the Neapolitan Song Festival, of which he won five editions.
The evening will be attended by:
The Garden of Simples, Valerio and Massino Jiovine, Kalika, Francesco Malapena, Nicola Mormone, Walter Ricci, Gino Rivieccio, Dario Sansone, Monica Sarnelli, Valentina Stella, The Super 4, Mario Trevi and Lino Vairetti.
