It's dinner time and the Carabinieri of the Naples mobile radio unit – alerted by the operations centre of the provincial command – intervene in via Posillipo.

An ANM administrative officer called 112 for help. A 22-year-old homeless man originally from Nigeria did not have his ticket with him and refused to show his documents, much less get off the bus.

Tempers begin to flare and the man threatens and attacks the employee of the Neapolitan company with visible shoves, repeatedly yanking her.

The driver of the bus was forced to stop with the other commuters inside. The Carabinieri arrived at the 2401 stop and, with considerable difficulty, stopped and arrested the 22-year-old.

The arrested man—who will have to answer for the crimes of violence, threats , and resisting a public official or employee of a public service, and disruption of a public service—is awaiting trial.

The woman who was attacked and threatened is fine but decided to seek medical attention only after finishing her shift.
