Naples, Largo Maradona besieged by a huge crowd of tourists and onlookers. Borrelli (AVS): “The situation is out of control and dangerous. We need police control and access regulation”
“A huge crowd of tourists and curious people is literally invading the so-called Largo Maradona and Via Emanuele De Deo in the Spanish Quarter to reach the historic mural of Napoli's first championship dedicated to the Pibe de Oro.
What has now become a destination of a true pilgrimage by fans and enthusiasts from all over the world has become one of the major criticalities in the city with regards to the safety of people and public order. The scenes captured in the video I received from a resident are incredibly worrying.
Tight control of the entire area by the police is needed to prevent criminal episodes and public safety problems. If these are the flows that will characterize the next weekends, it would also be necessary to find ways to regulate access to ensure that everyone can experience a great emotion without risks".
This is the comment of the deputy of the Green Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli who received the report of the critical situation.
