"A great emotion and a great joy to present Eduardo's poems in music in Naples in a magical place like the Auditorium Novecento – declares Patrizia Cirulli – It will be my first concert in Naples, a moment shared with the musicians, the guests and the audience. I will tell the story of the great Eduardo with devotion and gratitude”.
The album “Fantasia. Eduardo’s poems in music” is a musical transposition of ten poems by Eduardo De Filippo, a tribute to one of the most significant figures in the history of our theater. The album, produced under the musical direction of Marcello Peghin and the artistic consultancy of Mimmo Paganelli and published by Squilibri Editore, ranges across different genres: from folk to singer-songwriter. The album contains an introductory note by Pasquale Scialò and some images of Beppe Stasi’s paintings.
“Meeting Eduardo's poetry, something magical and extraordinary happened that immediately led me to set nine of his other poems to music. I became deeply passionate about his poetic world. – explains Patrizia Cirulli – Luca De Filippo gave me an initial authorization for publication and, subsequently, authorizations also arrived from the other heirs, whom I deeply thank for allowing me to realize this project. Setting Eduardo's poems to music was like entering a world that I have never encountered in my reality, but it allowed me to perceive it as if I had lived it up close”.
This is the tracklist of the album: “Si t' 'o ssapesse dicere”, “L'ammore ched'è?” with Dario Sansone of FOJA, “Relogio cumpiacente (Fantasia)”, “Io vulesse truvà pace” with Fausta Vetere of NCCP, “Penziere mieje”, “Quanno parla cu te”, “'E mmargarite”, “È notte”, “A…B…C…D…” and “E then drink…”
