Chiara Marciani, Councilor for Youth Policies of the Municipality of Naples, together with Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, presented the NEXT GEN NA award to actor Matteo Paolillo and producer Roberto Sessa for their commitment to the creation of the TV series Mare Fuori.

Mare Fuori tells the story of the protagonists' desire to be free from stereotypes and labels by escaping from the prison of their minds and making, among a thousand obstacles, their world a better place.

The protagonists of the series demonstrate their desire and ability to redeem themselves, just like the city of Naples, which emerges renewed from this hopeful story. The award ceremony, along with an unpublished interview, will be broadcast on Friday, April 14, 2023, on the Department's social media channels, Next Generation (NA), and media partners in a special episode of Next Generation.

Here, Matteo Paolillo and Roberto Sessa were interviewed by Chiara Marciani and Gaetano Manfredi in a special episode of Next Generation (NA): the cross-media format organized by the Department of Labor and Youth Policies of the Municipality of NAPLES with the scientific direction of SocietingLAB (the Social Digital Innovation laboratory of Federico II University of Naples) in collaboration with the Osservatorio Giovani, sponsored by RAI Campania and with the support of various media partners.

The format was designed to capture the real needs of young people by involving digital media in addition to "traditional" media, garnering widespread support with a total of 2.743.034 contacts reached throughout the campaign, which ran through December 2022. The format's episodes saw Councilor Chiara Marciani interview young Neapolitans live on Twitch. They had emblematic stories to tell and could suggest valuable escape routes towards a renewed vision of the city.

The Councilor met with Mattia Barbarossa (startupper), Egidio Cerrone (founder of Puok), Sara Mormile (aka Sara Penelope Robin) (actress and content creator), and Sabrina Efionayi (writer), trying to answer important questions such as: How do young people imagine the Naples of the future? What would they like to see implemented for them?

The format has had, and will have in future editions, the aim of creating an opportunity for dialogue and discussion between young people and the Public Administration to imagine a Naples capable of going beyond stereotypes and oleographs, one that welcomes and gives voice to the next generation.
