The Festival del Giallo returns to Naples for its second edition from 25 to 28 May.
The Festival del Giallo was born last year with a successful first edition with over 3500 spectators, 60 writers from all over Italy, 31 events, many books sold. A debut that pushed the creator and director Ciro Sabatino and the president Maurizio de Giovanni, together with the Iocisto bookshop, to make it an annual event that returns this year for the second edition from 25 to 28 May at the Grenoble, the cultural institute of the French Consulate in Naples.
The new Consul General of France Lise Moutoumalaya emphasizes: "The Institut Français Napoli is particularly happy to host the Naples Festival del Giallo again. From May 25 to 28, the events all hosted in Grenoble will be presented as part of the Franco-Neapolitan Week which celebrates the historical ties between Naples and France".
The 2023 edition will also take place in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute of Naples and starts from the poster that was born from the collaboration with Mario Punzo and his Italian School of Comix who helped the Festival del Giallo to involve Bonelli, and with them (and also thanks to the involvement of Luca Crovi) to obtain the poster dedicated to Julia, the criminologist born from the pen of Giancarlo Berardi, in a version of mystery in Naples drawn by Antonio Marinetti.
Berardi, one of the leading exponents of Italian comics since the creation of Ken Parker, will be at Grenoble on May 27: "Naples and its multifaceted culture have influenced my personal and professional growth to a great extent. This year, the Festival del Giallo wants to celebrate my work, and in particular the character of Julia, whose twenty-fifth anniversary falls, dedicating an exhibition and the poster for the event to her. It's a pleasant surprise and an honor," says the author.
Among the more than fifty guests, the Spanish writer Maria Oruna, author of “The Secret Port” and “What the Tide Hides”. The “Trial at the Mystery Festival” will see the most famous thief of all time, Arsène Lupin, as the defendant.
