When stopped by Carabinieri officers from the San Prisco (CE) station for a check late yesterday evening in an isolated area of that municipality, the forty-year-old Frenchman immediately told the officers that he didn't speak Italian well. The man, who did understand and speak Italian, was betrayed by his nervous and intolerant attitude, which aroused the Carabinieri's suspicions. They identified him and subjected him to a personal search, which was later extended to the apartment where he was spending a few days.
It was in this very location that approximately 5 kg of hashish were found in its possession.
The military found, in the bathroom of the accommodation, stored in two bags, 48 blocks of hashish and a machine for packaging the blocks and vacuum-packing them.
All the material found was seized.
The tourist was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sell and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
