Councilor Teresa Armato: "The format is proving very successful: the food-music combination appeals to an attentive and engaged audience."

Hosted in intimate places and open spaces, the event “Vedi Napoli e poi Mangia”, promoted and financed by the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples led by Teresa Armato, with the supervision of the anthropologist Marino Niola and the organization of Tenevents by Donatella Cagnazzo, in the first seven events was attended by 670 citizens and tourists. The food-music formula is popular and engaging, as explained by Councilor Armato, who announces the arrival of tourist tutors also in the Spanish Quarters.

"The 'See Naples and Then Eat' format is proving very successful. The audience is attentive and engaged, appreciating the moments dedicated to the history of food, which are the focus of the event, followed by the accompanying music and the final tasting, " says Councilor Armato.

'Investigating' our culture's most famous dishes from an anthropological perspective, but also from a perspective tied to our identity, is proving to be an interesting approach. It's a way to explore Naples, starting with its culinary heritage, but also its history and culture, combining theory and practice, curiosities and anecdotes about typical Neapolitan dishes. This approach offers both residents and tourists the opportunity to discover a new city and embrace it with greater curiosity.

The presence of tourist guides on the streets is also a sign of attention to visitors, which is greatly appreciated. In addition to Via Morghen, the historic center, and Sanità, starting Friday, the guides will also be in the Spanish Quarters to ease the flow of tourists in the area, recommending, for example, in addition to the obligatory photo of the Maradona mural, visits to other places such as the Church of Santa Maria Ognibene or Santa Maria Francesca.

In the “taste journey” proposed by “Vedi Napoli e poi mangia” we find different types of food for different locations: from the intimacy of churches and places where music is played, to the larger and more open spaces to “capture” an increasingly heterogeneous audience and to enhance the polycentric Naples, a city whose international vocation is already felt in its gastronomic history. After Casatiello Pastiera più Caffè, Parmigiana di melanzane, Frittata di maccheroni, Sfogliatella and Babà hosted at the Domus Ars, Pizza at the Hotel Real Orto Botanico and Genovese in the Church of San Giovanni Battista in San Giovanni a Teduccio, the review continues with Pasta e Patate – speaker Antonio Puzzi – Chef Giuseppe Daddio – music Eat Art Food in the art of Mario Brancaccio (Sunday 23 April – 11 am – Monastery of S.
