Arzano – A raid by the Technical Office, accompanied by Carabinieri from the local station, took place on the property of journalist Mimmo Rubio: "The same intimidation methods were applied to me that I suffered in 2017. Dossiers and municipal raids have been repeated for twenty years on the same property." A strange story, involving more or less veiled connections between suspects, politicians cleared of mafia charges, businessmen, and institutions, which will undoubtedly have legal repercussions, given that Rubio himself reportedly informed the matter of both the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Carabinieri's top brass.
The journalist himself, under police protection, recounted the incident on his social media page. "The day before yesterday, two technicians from the Municipality of Arzano , strangely assisted by a Carabinieri patrol from the local station, raided the property for an inspection. Their presence, formally unjustified, involved a property belonging to me, which contains a commercial business owned by third parties.
Without specifying the reasons, leaving their identity, a possible report of their presence, and above all showing or communicating to the owner of the commercial establishment that everything was happening under delegation of the judiciary. There was no illegal construction site in progress”.
“The paradoxical and disturbing inspection visit of the Technical Office of the Municipality of Arzano (currently led by an architect on trial whose inappropriate presence I have already denounced in a journalistic way in a municipality that has been placed under special administration three times for Camorra and whose sector has been one of the weak points of the State's accusations) – Rubio specifies -, concerns among other things a building, which as I have already written is an integral part of the third dissolution of the Municipality of Arzano for Camorra.
A property, always the same one that I inherited from my family, which in twenty years has undergone dozens of municipal inspections "on mandate" of politics to the max, in constant continuation, examined in every corner and detail, and the subject of two sentences related to the third dissolution of the Municipality of Arzano (TAR of Lazio and Council of State) in which it is certified, without ifs and buts, the intimidation, always following dossiers, against the undersigned, and on the property.
The story of delegitimizing and gagging the press repeats itself. Very serious facts (dossiers and climate of delegitimization and intimidation) and whose first signs we had already partially reported to the Prefecture in a recent meeting on threatened journalists with Claudio Silvestri, former secretary of the Sugc and current national deputy secretary of the Press Federation.
We will immediately involve the Judiciary, the category representatives (Federation of the Press and Order of Journalists) in this matter and as soon as possible I will also request a new hearing in the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission to explain all the serious things that are happening in Arzano".
“But the thing that has raised doubts and on which I will ask for clarifications at all institutional levels is the singular presence of a patrol of the Carabinieri instead of that of the local police, which is the one that generally deals with these things.
Technically and legally, it is the Carabinieri who ask for support from the Technical Office when they are directly affected by complaints and related delegations from the Judicial Authority, and not vice versa, given that among other things it was a support for a "scheduled" inspection (there was in fact no construction site in progress and therefore nothing could be modified with respect to any possible dispute!) and that, above all, even more importantly, it concerned a "well-known" property.
How anomalous it would be to talk about public order management to use the Carabinieri as if they had become a direct emanation of the municipality. To the Carabinieri whom I have already asked for some initial informal explanations (was there perhaps a mandate from the Judicial Authority for such an emergency and also your presence?). They told me that they were called by the Technical Office "to support" because there were no local police patrols available.
It all seems a bit strange to us, given that the police are always on the alert. We will ask the local police about this matter, whose command is a colonel (an inconvenient person and not liked by local politics as we have already repeatedly written!). It seems that they have not been involved in it. If this is true, another question immediately arises. Why all this?”. “Enough now! I no longer know who to watch my back from: from the Camorra of the 167 clan, from the politics linked to the Camorra and the cement business, from the deviant institutions”.
