A female prison police officer from Casaluce, Caserta, on duty in the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, died this morning while she was at the 'Giovanni Falcone' Training and Refresher School in Rome, to participate in the Republic Day parade on June 2.
From an initial reconstruction of the facts, as communicated by the Uspp union, the agent, who was in the contingent that will participate in the parade at the Imperial Forums on Friday, after having breakfast, felt ill in his room and fell to the floor and hit his head.
The emergency intervention and subsequent transport to the hospital where it seems she was immediately operated on did not prevent her death. She leaves behind a 10-year-old son and her husband.
“It is with great dismay that we learned that this morning a female prison police assistant on duty in the Caserta prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere died while she was at the 'Giovanni Falcone' Training and Refresher School in Rome, to participate in the Republic Day parade on June 2nd”.
This was announced in a press release from the Penitentiary Police Union Uspp. “From what we learn from the first news leaked out,” continues the note signed by the president of the Uspp Giuseppe Moretti, “the member of the Corps this morning who was in the contingent that will participate in the parade at the Imperial Forums on Friday, after having breakfast felt ill in his room and fell to the floor and hit his head.”
"The emergency intervention and subsequent transport to the hospital where it seems she was immediately operated on did not prevent her death. Our condolences and our human closeness to the family for a very serious event that is striking given the young age of the prison police officer originally from Casaluce who leaves behind a 10-year-old son and her husband", we read further in the union's press release.
“All prison police personnel – concludes Ciro Auricchio, regional secretary for Campania of the Uspp – remembers his colleague not only for her very high human qualities but also for her outstanding professional qualities and high sense of duty”.
