The Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate, a branch of the Department of Public Security, following the order issued by the Supreme Court of Cassation, has executed a definitive confiscation order against an entrepreneur operating in the construction sector, believed to be connected to the Casalesi clan, Zagaria group.
In January 2015, the interested party was hit by a custodial remand order issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples and executed by the DIA, following which he was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment for mafia-type association.
The entrepreneur, specifically, was identified as an entrepreneurial expression of the Casalesi clan, Zagaria group, for whose benefit he would have managed the control of the contracts with particular reference to those relating to the “S. Anna e S. Sebastiano” Hospital Trust in Caserta.
With today's provision, the confiscation of financial relationships available to the proposed and his wife for an estimated value of approximately 6 million euros was confirmed, already seized by the Court of S. Maria Capua Vetere - Section for the Application of Preventive Measures - on the proposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples.
Today's result is part of the institutional activities aimed at attacking assets illicitly acquired and attributable, directly or indirectly, to mafia-type criminal contexts, thus acting to protect and safeguard the healthy part of the national economic fabric.
