The Caserta Flying Squad has executed a custodial order in prison, issued by the investigating judge of Naples at the request of the Neapolitan DDA, against a 33-year-old Albanian and a 35-year-old Moldovan, both residents in the province of Caserta, as they are seriously suspected of the crimes of transnational human trafficking, enslavement and extortion.
According to the reconstruction, the suspects recruited young girls from Moldova, then segregated them in buildings in the province of Caserta and forced them into prostitution. The investigation, which started from the complaints of some victims who had managed to escape from their tormentors, made it possible to demonstrate that the suspects, from September 2019 to January 2023, had recruited at least 4 young women from Moldova, leading them to Italy by deception, that is, through a fake offer of a job as a waitress, also committing to cover the travel expenses to enter Italy.
However, once they arrived in the province of Caserta, the victims discovered that the job offer was non-existent. The suspects also demanded the immediate return of the sum of money paid and, when the women refused because they did not have the financial means, they forced them to prostitute themselves on the streets with violence and threats.
The investigation revealed a picture of authentic deprivation of any form of freedom of self-determination of the victims, since the suspects took away their passports, locked them in their homes with the possibility of leaving only to prostitute themselves, forced them to wear certain items of clothing, took possession of the money they earned and subjected them to beatings and continuous intimidation.
The recipients of the order were tracked down by the Caserta Flying Squad in their homes and taken to the prisons of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and Pozzuoli.
