During Covid, he threatened to blow up the infirmary ward of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison with the oxygen tank he was equipped with due to health problems, but was stopped in time by three prison officers, who prevented a serious accident.
Today, before the sole judge of the court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, the trial of the Sicilian prisoner who was responsible for the episode on March 25, 2021 began; the main witnesses were three prison officers, two of whom, inspectors Raffaele Piccolo and Alessandro Biondi, are currently accused in the trial for the violence against prisoners that occurred on April 6, 2020 in the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
Piccolo and Biondi, together with a third agent, managed to avoid the worst on March 25, 2021, while the Sicilian prisoner had opened the cylinder, letting the gas out, and was holding the lighter lit in his hand, threatening to make everything explode if he were transferred.
One of the three officers, while the other two tried to talk him out of it, went around the prisoner and, taking him from behind, managed to close the cylinder, allowing his colleagues to block the prisoner. The report was then sent to the Prosecutor's Office and then the trial.
