“We will build the new cable car to Vesuvius, a sustainable mobility project that will allow you to reach the crater of the most famous volcano in the world”. This was announced by Ciro Buonajuto, mayor of Herculaneum and national vice president of Anci.
In recent days, Buonajuto explains, “we have signed an agreement with the Campania Agency for Mobility, Infrastructure and Networks (Acamir) aimed at the realization of the definitive project for the new cableway, already financed with 700 thousand euros by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility”.
The cableway, the mayor continues, is “a work to promote sustainable mobility and at the same time a new tourist attraction for Ercolano. The construction of a cable car on Vesuvius to reach the crater of the most famous volcano in the world has the objective of changing, in the coming years, the face of our city and increasingly promoting the tourist industry.
The line will have four stopover stations in as many sites of interest that will be affected by redevelopment plans. The route will start from Via Bordiga and will have as intermediate stations Via Vesuvio near the 'Ristorante La Siesta', the Vesuvius Observatory and then reach the access square to the large cone 'Quota 1000'.
Making politics - concludes the representative of Italia Viva – it means solving everyday problems, but also dreaming and investing for the future, in a new urban design of the city that is increasingly welcoming and full of services and facilities”.
