“We are happy to welcome the data that emerged from the report by the managers of the Diving Centre of TGreek's Hours, Francesco Roma and Francesco Palomba, who photographs a positive situation of the mapped area. This means that the activities conducted in the last seven years have borne fruit”.
This is what the president of the Sorrento city council, Luigi Di Prisco, said about the results of the monitoring activities of the seabed of the coastal municipality, in the stretch between Tonnarella and Villa Astor, carried out in recent months.
Today in the council chamber of the Town Hall the presentation of the report in the presence of the mayor, Massimo Coppola, representatives of the Port Authority and numerous classes of the city's schools. Starting from the report, for the future the commitment sought by Di Prisco is to give life "to a series of cleaning and reclamation of the seabed with strictly targeted actions, involving all the organizations that have collaborated with us in the past".
In the coming months, in addition to recovering this registered waste including traps, ghost nets, ropes and various materials, the work will continue "in the stretch between Villa Astor up to the bodies of water of the San Francesco beach, to complete the monitoring actions". "It was nice to see so many children in the room, who - the words of the president of the Sorrento city council - must be witnesses and sentinels of the future".
