The municipal task force in Naples has been working since the early hours of today to clear streets and squares that were flooded with fans celebrating Spalletti's team's mathematical victory in the Scudetto. Their objectives include restoring the devastated greenery, assessing the damage to several sites, and immediately planning the most urgent interventions.

The municipal task force will make use of numerous teams, with mechanical and manual means, and operators from Asia, Napoli Servizi, ABC, and the Arredo Urbano and Verde della Città services who will take turns "to restore decorum and cleanliness and erase, in some cases, the excesses of the celebration after which the city - as stated in a note from Palazzo San Giacomo - must return ready and welcoming for citizens and tourists, especially on this first day as Champion of Italy".

“It is being recovered throughout the city using all the means available – explained the councilor for Green and Urban Hygiene Vincenzo Santagada who also carried out a survey of the areas in which further interventions will have to be carried out in the next few hours – during the night it was not possible to do everything both because of the celebration in progress and because of the strong increase in waste abandoned in the street.

We have made up for this with additional sweepers and workers, especially in some specific areas such as the city centre, via Roma, via Toledo, Piazza Plebiscito and the entire area surrounding the stadium and Piazzale Tecchio where we are still working to try to recover everything during the day and be ready for Sunday's match at the Maradona stadium".

Interventions with enhanced shifts for street sweeping and waste collection will continue throughout the day also for the collection of bottles, firecrackers and burning parts present in various areas. From the first light of dawn, a radical cleanup operation was carried out in the area of the Maradona Stadium, the Chiaia and San Potito Stairs, the porticos of the Church of San Francesco da Paola in Piazza Plebiscito, in the Galleria Principe di NAPOLI and Galleria Umberto with their porticos.

The Neptune and Giant fountains did not report any damage, while the Artichoke Fountain, "literally invaded by fans during the night", was inspected this morning by Abc technicians who restored its water system.

The historic low fence of the flowerbed, in wrought iron, was broken in several places and will be restored today by Napoli Servizi. The local police have prepared a temporary fence while the urban green technicians will take care of restoring the surrounding grassy surface as well as in other sites.

In the Galleria Laziale, the local police removed all the fire extinguishers that had been dumped on the roadway, placing them back in the cupboards for checks and possible replacements, by the company in charge, including the damaged doors.
