He is the cousin of Annalisa Durante, an innocent victim of organized crime, shot by mistake during an ambush on March 27, 2004 in Naples, the pizza chef at whom a bartender pointed a gun during an argument over the hoarding of customers.
The incident occurred around 12pm last Tuesday: according to the witnesses' account and the victim herself, who is called Antonio During, the 60-year-old bartender Gennaro Peluso took a gun that he had in his shop and pointed it at the pizza chef, also pulling the trigger. Luckily thegun did not fire.
The gesture provoked a 'run away run away general in the Forcella area, particularly crowded at that time. On the ground, the State Police found an unexploded 7,65 caliber projectile and in the bar, during a search, a bag containing a can of oil for lubricating weapons, a tool for cleaning them and a hard disk. All the material was seized.
Yesterday, at the end of the hearing to validate the arrest for the charge, formulated by the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, of attempted murder aggravated by abject and futile motives, the investigating judge of Napoli Marco Giordano has validated the precautionary measure and house arrest ordered for Peluso, defended by the lawyer Fabrizio De Maio.
The suspect made a different version of the facts, from that collected by the State Police, and deemed unreliable by the judge. Peluso reported, in essence, that he had been attacked in his bar by Durante and one of his collaborators, and that he had been forced to put them to flight by taking out a toy gun that he kept under the counter.
The suspect also reported that he then drove away on a scooter and decided to throw the toy gun in a dumpster before going back, after having seen on his cell phone, connected to the video surveillance system of the shop, that the police had arrived on the scene.
However, at the end of the investigation, the agents arrested him. His story seemed unlikely to the judge and now the analysis of the video surveillance systems will be decisive to outline the story in the smallest details.
