Production on the new international action-drama series will begin in summer 2023. Costiera is the first Italian Original series to be shot in English and produced in Italy.
Prime Video Italy announces the new Italian Original series Costiera, an international action drama directed by Emmy Award winner Adam Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Fargo, Scrubs, 30 Rock, Masters of Sex, Californication, Better Call Saul, Orange is the New Black, Shameless). Costiera is the latest addition to Amazon Prime members in Italy, who benefit from fast shipping, exclusive offers, and entertainment, including Prime Video, with a single subscription costing €49,90/year or €4,99/month.
Written by Elena Bucaccio (Editorial Director of Lux Vide) and Francesco Arlanch, the series is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Luca Bernabei for Lux Vide, a Fremantle group company. Costiera will be available on Prime Video in 2024 and will be distributed worldwide, thanks to the solid collaboration with Fremantle.
Daniel De Luca, an Italian-American former Marine, is a troubleshooter at one of the world's most exclusive hotels in Positano. Daniel, or DD as he's known, helps wealthy tourists get out of trouble and return home from this corner of paradise where he lives as a guest of the owner—because Daniel was the only one to glimpse the face of the man who may have kidnapped his daughter, and is therefore the only one capable of hunting him down. In addition to an international cast, the series Costiera will feature a compelling plot, an enigmatic protagonist, spectacular locations, and a fast-paced series. Filming for Costiera will begin this summer on the Amalfi Coast; the series will be shot in English.
“Costiera will transport our viewers to the Amalfi Coast, where everything may seem perfect, but not everything is as it seems, and I can't wait,” said James Farrell, VP Local Originals, Amazon Studios.
