This morning, in the provinces of Milan and Caserta, the Carabinieri of the provincial command of Milan, with the executive support of the competent territorial departments of the Arma, have executed an order for the application of a personal precautionary measure, issued by the investigating judge at the court of the capital against 6 Italian individuals held responsible, in various capacities, for criminal association aimed at introducing into the State and trading in products with false markings and receiving stolen goods.
The provision represents the continuation of a broader investigation activity, started in September 2020 by the Milan Duomo carabinieri company and coordinated by the Milanese prosecutor's office, which had already allowed, in October 2021, the arrest of 4 Senegalese citizens responsible for at least 8 robberies carried out in the main nightlife areas of Milan.
The investigations had revealed the modus operandi used by the criminals who, acting in a group and taking advantage of the night hours, after having identified the victims, first approached them with a pretext and then, after having attacked them with kicks and punches, they stole valuable watches from them and cash sums, for a total value of approximately 80.000 euros.
The continuation of the investigations, developed through traditional investigative methodologies and telephone and environmental interceptions, as well as through the analysis of telephone records, forensic copies and technical reports, then made it possible to identify the channel of receipt of the removed goods and define the organizational chart of a criminal association, active for several years and operating between northern Italy and France, dedicated to a much broader criminal activity and the sale of luxury goods, proceeds of predatory crimes or counterfeiting.
