On May 26, almost all of Italy (excluding the areas hit by the flood) will be on strike for public transport. The protest was called by USB to "relaunch the contractual platform of the TPL sector sent to the institutions and employers' associations", against "wild privatizations through the continuous recourse to contracts, subcontracts and subcontracting that fuel exploitation and precariousness, the succession of 'farce' contract renewals in exchange for the growing sell-off of rights".
But also the "heavy responsibilities of workers in the sector without adequate levels of safety, with heavy wage penalties that further exacerbate the conditions of the current economic crisis and the high cost of living".
