Dramatic accident road late yesterday evening on the eastern bypass of Avellino: a 49 year old man was swept up e killed from a car to the exit from a pizzeria, where he had spent a quiet evening with his wife, children and some friends. Investigations underway.

The 49-year-old had just left the club and was crossing the street with the rest of the group to reach the cars that had parked on the opposite side of the road when a car came along and hit and killed the man instantly, throwing him dozens of meters away.

The Highway Patrol and 118 ambulances arrived on site. The arterial road, which connects the city to the A16 motorway toll booth Napoli-Canosa, was blocked for several hours in both directions. Investigations are underway to ascertain the dynamics of the tragedy and any responsibilities.
