The circumstances surrounding the death of 26-year-old Vincenzo Costanzo from Ponticelli on the night of Napoli 's Scudetto celebrations are unclear : the Carabinieri responded to Piazza Carlo III for a man with gunshot wounds to various parts of the body.
The young man, already known to the police, was known as 'Ciuculill' and was considered a young emerging boss of the Camorra of the infamous Lotto 0 of Ponticelli since - as Neapolitan.it anticipated - he was the son of the sister of Anna Scarallo , wife of Antonio D'Amico , founder of the famous Fraulella clan.
Three other people were likely injured in the same square where Costanzo was shot. The victim's girlfriend , a 26-year-old from Portici, also arrived at Pellegrini Hospital. She had an ankle wound . She was released with a 10-day prognosis.
A 24-year-old man from Ponticelli , the same neighborhood as the victim, was admitted to Villa Betania Hospital . He also suffered a gunshot wound to the right buttock and was discharged with a 15-day prognosis . The same was true for a 20-year- old man, also from Ponticelli.
According to the Carabinieri, one of the most accredited hypotheses is that everyone was injured in the same place, where Costanzo was also hit (Piazza Volturno). It is not yet clear whether these were gunshots fired randomly during the celebrations or instead a targeted raid.
Costanzo's relatives , who arrived at the hospital, vandalized the building when they learned of the 26-year-old's death.
