Scheduled for Saturday 1 July at 21, the free show dedicated to the courage and beauty of the Royal Site of Carditello, with the participation of the associations that fought on the front line to wrest the Bourbon palace from organized crime
The first popular Opera dedicated to the beauty of Campania Felix and to the rebirth of the Real Site of Carditello - which has gone through ups and downs until it was purchased in 2014 by the Ministry of Culture - opens the Carditello Festival 2023.
On stage, Saturday 1 July at 21 in the Real Sito di Carditello (San Tammaro, Caserta), the free show "Carditello" with the artist Mario Incudine, as part of the musical festival promoted by the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello, led by President Maurizio Maddaloni.
A musical tribute to the territory, with the special participation of active citizens, journalists and local associations who fought on the front line to wrest the Bourbon palace from organized crime.
A musical journey through unpublished songs, stories, songs and ballads - linked to the history, culture and news of the Real Sito - born from an idea of the artistic director Antonello De Nicola, on texts by Corrado Delia, and freely inspired by the book " The Royal Palace of Carditello. Three centuries of glories, parties, thefts and auctions, angels and redemptions” by journalist Nadia Verdile.
To narrate the most evocative pages of Carditello, Mario Incudine (direction, music and songs) – singer-songwriter, actor and author of soundtracks, is one of the most representative characters of the new Italian world music, as well as boasting collaborations with Moni Ovadia, Peppe Servillo , Eugenio Bennato, Ambrogio Sparagna, Lucilla Galeazzi, Nino Frassica, Mario Venuti, Tosca, Antonella Ruggiero and Kaballà, and to have duetted with Francesco De Gregori, Lucio Dalla, Alessandro Haber and Francesco Di Giacomo (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso) – Corrado D 'Elia (texts and narrator), Antonio Vasta (musical direction and arrangements, barrel organ, accordion and piano), Pino Ricosta (double bass), Manfredi Tumminello (ethnic strings and guitars) and Francesco Bongiorno (drums and percussion).
Second appointment with the 2023 tour of the Irish singer Damien Rice (5 July) – one of the greatest songwriters of our time, defined by the Guardian as “the poet with the guitar” – who has not performed in Italy since 2018: Rice plays guitar, piano , bass, clarinet and percussion, radiating an intense positive energy and communicating a delicate sensitivity that makes his character sincere and unpredictable.
Third date with the storytelling-concert "La Milonga Del Fútbol" by Federico Buffa (July 7), Sky Sport journalist and sports commentator who, according to critic Aldo Grasso, has shown that he "is an extraordinary storyteller, capable of creating real culture, that is, to establish connections, create connections, open digressions": Buffa, with an enveloping and evocative style, recounts the exploits of the greatest left-handed players in Argentine football (such as Renato Cesarini, Omar Sivori and Diego Armando Maradona, with a special cameo in the finale) , embellished by the milonga by Alessandro Nidi on piano and Mascia Foschi on singing.
The new show "Get Comfortable" by Gino Rivieccio (July 9), directed by Enzo Liguori, close to the 45-year career of the Neapolitan artist: a real comic therapy, which recounts the beginnings in the Neapolitan and Roman cabarets of Rivieccio – moving from comedy to revue, from variety to pochade, not counting the many years on TV between Mediaset and Rai – and retraces many musical genres with Federica Avallone and the Minale Big Band on stage, ranging from 70s songs to swing, from parodies to South American harmonies, crossing the satire of costume without neglecting the famous characters of his repertoire.
After the extraordinary performance at the Sanremo Festival, the Reggia di Carditello is preparing to welcome Massimo Ranieri (July 14) with the new show "All dreams still in flight": a journey between singing, acting, famous songs, funny sketches and stories , with a memorable repertoire, the winner of the Critics Award in Sanremo 2022 "Lettera di la dal mare" and unpublished works written for Ranieri by some great Italian songwriters (such as Pino Donaggio, Ivano Fossati, Bruno Lauzi, Giuliano Sangiorgi).
Enrico Ruggeri returns to perform live (July 18), after last year's release of "La Revolution", a recording work characterized by innovative sounds, defined by critics as one of the best of his long career: twice winner of the Sanremo Festival , Premio Tenco 2021, on this tour Ruggeri brings to the public the most recent songs and the great hits that made him famous, rearranged and included in a renewed lineup, with a new band made up of key figures from the Milanese and non-Milan rock scene.
Protagonists of the format "The truth, please, about love", the artists Stefano Massini and Luca Barbarossa (22 July): an investigation into love - lived, misunderstood, idealized, wounded, betrayed and ruthless - told on stage by Massini and sung by Barbarossa, songwriter and voice of the Radio 2 Social Club radio program.
Grand finale with “Il Tour 2023” by Antonello Venditti & Francesco De Gregori (July 27), who sold out the 2022 tour and the tour in the main Italian theaters that has just ended: a unique and exciting show, in which the artists give new look to their greatest hits, with songs that have entered the heart and history of the people, to become the soundtrack of entire generations. Together with Venditti and De Gregori, a band that brings together musicians who have been collaborating separately with the two artists for years (Alessandro Canini drums, Danilo Cherni keyboards, Carlo Gaudiello piano, Primiano Di Biase hammond, Fabio Pignatelli bass, Amedeo Bianchi sax, Paolo Giovenchi guitars, Alessandro Valle pedal steel guitar and mandolin, Fabiana Sirigu violin and backing vocalists Laura Ugolini and Laura Marafioti).
The Carditello Festival represents an unparalleled cultural challenge which, narrating timeless emotions and sensations, intends to give a turning point and a relaunch of the identity and inspiration that distinguish the territory.
Today the Royal Palace of Carditello, after having been considered for decades the symbol of degradation and abandonment in the Land of Fires and after having resisted the wounds of time and malfeasance, represents a model of redemption and rebirth for the entire community.
