He died after five months at the Cardarelli hospital in Napoli the 75-year-old attacked last January 20 in front of a bar in Pianura.
The man, Giuseppe Zizzi, was beaten in front of the bar in Via Comunale Napoli in the neighborhood Pianura, western area of the city, was an 18 year old local boy with no criminal record, who was arrested shortly after by the Carabinieri of the operational unit of the Bagnoli company of the Pianura station.
The 75-year-old had hit his head violently on the ground and was taken to the Cardarelli hospital, where he immediately appeared to be in serious condition. After more than 5 months, this morning, he died. The body, by order of the judicial authority, was transferred to the Secondo Policlinico in Naples for an autopsy.
The victim was suddenly punched for no reason while he was waiting to enter the shop, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head violently.
In light of the elderly man's death, the charge against the 18-year-old has been changed from attempted murder to voluntary homicide.
