The Camorra in Villaricca defends its business activities from the controls of the police. The clan imposes a ban on drug dealing in the city. Arrests by the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza. Several companies seized, fuel and food in the crosshairs.
And so this morning, by order of the DDa of Napoli, the Carabinieri of the Investigative Nucleus of Naples and Castello di Cisterna and the Financial Police of the Giugliano in Campania Group have executed - with the contribution of their respective air components - a precautionary custody order, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples at the request of the Magistrates of the local Anti-Mafia District Directorate, against 19 people (of which 3 are already detained).
All people seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of the crimes of mafia-type association, extortion, violations of the regulations on weapons and drugs and attempted murder (all aggravated by the purpose of facilitating the clan).
The investigations have allowed us to document, in Villaricca, the continuing operation of the Ferrara – Cacciapuoti clan, historically part of the Camorra cartel called Nuova famiglia (with the Nuvoletta clan of Marano di Napoli and the Casalesi clan), linked to the Corleonese wing of the mafia-type association called Cosa Nostra and militarily opposed to the one called Nuova Camorra Organizzata (led by the deceased Raffele Cutolo).
It was then possible to reconstruct the structure of the clan, stably divided into two distinct groups, one headed by the Ferrara family and the other by the Cacciapuoti family, identifying its leaders - all reached by the restrictive measure - and some of the affiliates (the clan's staff, as emerged from the investigations, stands at 50 units, who in the event of detention would be entitled to a "salary" and coverage of legal expenses).
The investigations revealed that the Ferraras were the fringe with a markedly entrepreneurial vocation (in particular, in the construction, catering, hydrocarbons and food marketing sectors).
Just as it was possible to confirm the stable interest of organized crime in the hydrocarbon sector. And at the same time to ascertain that the clan - which in any case draws part of its resources from drug trafficking - intended to preserve the territory from the activities and attention of the police by imposing a ban on drug dealing in Villaricca.
Nine extortion cases were also documented, mostly against entrepreneurs operating in the construction sector, owners of gyms and gaming rooms (in the latter case, the owner was required to pay €9 for each piece of equipment present in the room), required to pay sums of varying amounts (approximately from €70 to €1.500 per month) and intended to feed the common fund.
But the involvement of the clan's leaders was also found in the fugitive status of the well-known CONTINI Eduardo, head of the clan of the same name which, together with those called LICCIARDI and MALLARDO, is part of the Camorra cartel called Alleanza di Secondigliano and is in opposition to that of the Mazzarellas.
And finally, evidence was acquired regarding the attempted murder committed by a member of the Mauriello group, a branch linked to the Ferraras, against a member of the Cacciapuotis.
11 companies seized for 16 million euros
At the same time, an emergency seizure order will be executed, concerning 11 companies operating in the real estate, construction, hydrocarbons, cafeteria and restaurant sectors as well as the sale of food products, which produced a turnover of 16 million euros each year.
The seizure order was issued against the top members of the Ferrara fringe, because they were formed by reinvesting the huge proceeds from the activities of the mafia organization.
