Naples. A protest march took place yesterday afternoon in Naples, where activists from the committees for the defense and extension of basic income, the committee for a free and clean sea, and the children of a social soccer school who, in the city of the Scudetto, don't have a pitch to play on, joined the march for the right to housing and against excessive tourism.
The procession ended in front of Palazzo San Giacomo, the seat of the Municipality, where the demonstrators, after displaying banners, set up a fake beach with umbrellas and a volleyball net, while the children of Spartak San Gennaro, the name of the team, used the street adjacent to the Municipality for a soccer game.

"Ten thousand evictions and seven thousand vacation homes," explained a spokesperson for the Campaign for the Right to Housing, "are two sides of the same coin. The Region and Municipality must intervene immediately to regulate and curb the spiraling growth of tourist rentals and implement public policies for the right to housing, without waiting for a national law that, in our opinion, appears useless."
The protesters announced that tomorrow there will be a round table discussion on these issues between the municipal council and the committees, pending June 13th when the national conference of the ANCI on the right to housing will be held in Naples.
